#neueenergiethueringen - Tiefensee on summer tour 2022

Thursday, 18.08.2022 was the day. LCP Laser-Cut-Processing GmbH - the competence center for laser material processing for special materials - received a visit from Thuringian politics. Wolfgang Tiefensee, Thuringian Minister for Economy, Science and Digital Society, made a stopover in Hermsdorf on his summer tour. In addition to the managing directors and some employees of LCP, Rico Wachs, managing director of TRIDELTA Weichferrite GmbH, also took part in the event.

Mr. Tiefensee informed himself about the situation of the company and the TRIDELTA CAMPUS Hermsdorf on the way to the energy transition. How are we approaching the conversion to CO2-neutral processes? What are the current challenges? What innovative solutions and projects are there for decarbonizing products and processes? The aim was also to discuss further steps, but also problems and support needs.

At the beginning, Daniel Störzner, Managing Director of LCP Laser-Cut-Processing GmbH and Chairman of the Board of TRIDELTA CAMPUS Hermsdorf e.V., gave a short presentation on the structures of the industrial cluster. This clarified how the high-tech location Hermsdorf has developed in the past years and which possibilities the connection of a multiplicity of enterprises still possesses in the next years to be able to make a high contribution on the way to the CO2 neutrality and to the increase of the energy efficiency. Subsequently, the focus was to be directed to the problem areas on campus. Here, especially the rapidly increasing energy prices as well as the acute shortage of skilled workers and their effects on the companies were addressed. In the last part of the presentation, Mr. Störzner presented the current projects of LCP and the campus in order to give the Minister of Economics an overview of the measures taken against the named problem areas.

One example is in the direction of the energy turnaround:
Here, LCP as well as the other member companies of the industrial cluster TRIDELTA CAMPUS Hermsdorf have concrete ideas and plans, which they would like to support and advance together consistently. The goal is an independent energy supply for the member companies through the generation and use of their own renewable energy. The companies of the Hermsdorf cluster see their own renewable energy as a locational advantage and rely on wind, sun and hydrogen. The vision and the plan behind it are in place, the only things missing are sufficient political backing, accelerated procedures as far as the topic of wind energy expansion is concerned and, above all, planning security for the companies.

In the free discussion that followed, Mr. Tiefensee briefly addressed the topics once again and described the current status in politics to those present. Thereby, possible support potentials were debated once again in order to help the companies of the TRIDELTA CAMPUS to cope with the current challenges.
